At the Mighty Wurlitzer (066)

I painted this for my brother. When I was a child and he was a teenager, he, my uncle and my father built a pipe organ in our basement. The console sat at the far end of the TV room and all the pipes were in the back of the laundry room. Outside, against the house, they built a roofed structure to hold the blower which is the part that sends the air through the pipes. It was the early ’60s and I think the neighbors thought we were building a bomb shelter.
